Frequently Asked Questions

Design and Permit Drawing Questions

Find clear answers about project fit, starting information, consultant roles, permit application assistance, revisions, timing, and municipal responsibility.

01What types of projects does the studio work on?

Custom home design leads our work, alongside additions, major renovations, interiors, secondary dwelling units, structural alterations, and accessory structures. Other enquiries are assessed individually against our qualifications and available scope.

02What do you need to provide a quote?

Share the municipality, property address or approximate location, proposed work, and desired timeline. Photographs, sketches, surveys, or existing drawings help us define the starting point.

03Will my project need an engineer or other consultant?

Consultant requirements are confirmed after initial review. We can coordinate required engineering, HVAC, energy, or survey information within the agreed scope. Each consultant remains responsible for their professional work.

04Is a site visit included?

Site measurement and existing condition documentation depend on the project location and agreed scope. The proposal identifies any included visits.

05Can you help with the permit application?

Application support and responses to municipal comments on our drawings may be included in the proposal. The municipality controls its review timeline and determines permit issuance; approval is not guaranteed.

06How long does design and documentation take?

We provide an anticipated schedule after reviewing your goals and property information. Timing depends on scope, client decisions, site access, consultant work, and any required revisions.

07Can you work with my contractor?

Yes. We can coordinate design information with your contractor and required consultants as part of the agreed engagement.
